Italian house pioneer Alex Neri, DJ, producer, and founding member
of Italian electronic band Planet Funk, is the force behind the
influential Tenax Recordings, the label arm of the legendary Tenax
Club in Florence, where he has maintained a residency for over two
decades. His early productions in the '90s—particularly under aliases
like Kamasutra-bridged progressive house with the emerging Italian
deep techno sound, helping define a regional style that went on to
shape house music throughout Europe and beyond. His new music,
on his own relaunched imprint Wildflower, Berlin-based label Slow
Life, amongst others, is some of his best yet: emotive, groove-driven
house that feels equal parts human and machine.
